Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.<\/p>\n<p><!--CareersInnerInfo--><\/p>\n<h3>Position Overview<\/h3>\n<p>Calian is currently seeking a full-time Perioperative Registered Nurse to deliver surgical support to military personnel at the medical clinic situated at CFB Ottawa. This is a rewarding position where you would make a difference in the lives of the men and women who serve our country and keep us safe.<\/p>\n<p>You&rsquo;ll benefit from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work-life balance of a Monday to Friday, daytime hours<\/li>\n<li>Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team<\/li>\n<li>Highly structured environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The position is a 1.0 FTE requiring 37.5 hours per week, with a standard schedule of 7.5 hours per day during clinic operational hours, Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n<p>For further information regarding this opportunity, please reach out to Jayda Snell, Health Services Recruiter, via email at jayda.snell@calian.com.<\/p>\n<h3>Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Providing perioperative nursing care in accordance with the scope of practice for a Perioperative Registered Nurse.<\/li>\n<li>Attending and completing all required hospital orientation programs, including general and operating room&ndash;specific training.<\/li>\n<li>Preparing and maintaining a sterile environment for surgical procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the surgical team with gowning and gloving techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Managing surgical instruments within the sterile field and back table.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining accurate counts of all instruments, supplies, and surgical materials.<\/li>\n<li>Developing and implementing patient care plans for surgical procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing pre-operative assessments with patients.<\/li>\n<li>Transferring patients to and from the operating room.<\/li>\n<li>Positioning patients in accordance with surgical, anaesthesia, and safety requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Performing surgical site preparation prior to procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Documenting patient care and procedural details during surgery.<\/li>\n<li>Providing instruments, supplies, and medications to the sterile field.<\/li>\n<li>Handling surgical specimens and specialized equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating and overseeing activities within the operating room during procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with the induction and emergence phases of anaesthesia as directed by the anaesthetist.<\/li>\n<li>Transferring patients to the Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and providing verbal handover reports.<\/li>\n<li>Setting up, cleaning, and preparing the operating room between surgical cases.<\/li>\n<li>Creating and maintaining patient documentation in accordance with hospital and organizational requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Adhering to all patient safety protocols, procedures, and standards.<\/li>\n<li>Performing other related duties as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Qualifications<\/h3>\n<p>To be eligible for this position you must meet all the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized university.<\/li>\n<li>Registered as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the applicable provincial or territorial regulatory body.<\/li>\n<li>Completion of a hospital-based or ORNAC-approved Perioperative Nursing Certification Program.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of two (2) years of full-time, post-graduate clinical experience within the last five (5) years in perioperative nursing, performing both scrub and circulating roles.<\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting surgical procedures across specialties including General, Orthopaedic, ENT, and Plastic surgery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Additional Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>You must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.<\/li>\n<li>Current certification or willingness to obtain CPR Level C with AED.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Compensation<\/p>\n<p>$48 &#8211; $52 hourly (approximately)<\/p>\n<p>Vacancy<\/p>\n<p>We have 1 available position.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-52528","career","type-career","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Perioperative Registered Nurse - Calian Careers<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/careers.calian.com\/fr-ca\/careers\/df-perioperative-registered-nurse-55785-2\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"fr_CA\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Perioperative Registered Nurse - Calian Careers\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces.
