Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.<\/p>\n<p><!--CareersInnerInfo--><\/p>\n<h3>Position Overview<\/h3>\n<p>This unique role is based at a specialized clinic downtown near Stadacona exclusively serving active-duty military personnel. The clinic operates within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary, shared-care model, offering a wide range of healthcare services to support the mental health and overall well-being of CAF members.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking a psychiatrist with availability 3 days per week on a regular schedule to provide in-person services. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, daytime working hours. This is a rare opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a supportive and specialized clinical setting.<\/p>\n<p>Benefit from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Collaborative Team Environment.<\/li>\n<li>Time for Administrative Duties.<\/li>\n<li>Guaranteed Hourly Rate.<\/li>\n<li>No on-call or Weekend Hours Required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For further information about this career opportunity contact Pamela Simper, Talent Acquisition Specialist, at pamela.simper@calian.com.<\/p>\n<h3>Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducting psychiatric assessments, providing diagnosis based on DSM, and providing treatment of a variety of mental health conditions including trauma-related disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, substance-related disorders, and addictive disorders.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares detailed written psychiatric assessment reports on referred patients, including recommendations for a treatment plan, and participates in the implementation of the treatment plan by providing psychotherapy, prescribing appropriate somatic therapy, and generating patient medical records to support the multidisciplinary team.<\/li>\n<li>Advising on operational readiness, return to work, prognosis, impairment, and restrictions.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting psychopharmacological treatment, conducting evidence-based therapy such as CBT, responding to emergencies, and crisis.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting tele-medicine assessments and interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Providing clinical preceptorship and educational sessions for staff.<\/li>\n<li>Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary mental health team in case reviews.<\/li>\n<li>Provides expert advice on mental illness or disorders to primary care providers to assist them in the identification, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health disorders.<\/li>\n<li>Creates and maintains patient records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Registered and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia<\/li>\n<li>Specialty certification in psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Psychiatry (FRCPC)<\/li>\n<li>Experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population 18-60 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Experience in delivering psychiatric services for a wide range of mental illnesses including trauma related disorders, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders, substance-related and addictive disorders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Compensation<\/p>\n<p>Based on skills and experience.<\/p>\n<p>Vacancy<\/p>\n<p>We have 1 available position.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-51269","career","type-career","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Psychiatrist - Calian Careers<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/careers.calian.com\/fr-ca\/careers\/df-psychiatrist-56000-4\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"fr_CA\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Psychiatrist - Calian Careers\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces.
