About the Role
The combined role of Planner/Buyer will primarily work for projects that have a mature design. The Planner/Buyer will focus primarily on scheduling and part procurement and will work with the project managers to give feedback on when the projects can start production.
Responsibilities
- Formulate material requirements based on project demands, available inventory and the production schedule
- Plan and release production orders
- Monitor actual versus planned material consumption and plan resupply as required
- Monitor MRP ran requisitions and facilitate planning and delivery date
- Obtain and analyze offers, prepare bid comparisons, negotiate terms, and process orders
- You will be responsible for supplier selection, qualification and auditing
Qualifications
- PMAC/SCMP diploma or designation is preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing purchasing environment
- Proven ability to establish strategic sourcing and supplier relationships
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word and SAP is an asset
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, drawings and specifications
