Position Overview

The Calian marketing team is looking for an enthusiastic co-op student to join our team as a Marketing Assistant.

The person will be responsible for planning, developing, and creating engaging content in support of our various business units. This individual will work closely our Marketing Segment Directors and the Digital Marketing team to coordinate marketing activities such as demand gen campaigns, sponsorships, webinars, virtual events, and graphic design in Canva. Additional responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

This role requires a collaborative team player who can think big picture while maintaining a strong attention to detail. This role will be required to build a strong and consistent brand to grow our brand visibility and reputation in various industries. The ideal candidate uses data and strategic thinking to support recommendations. This person will prioritize and juggle many tasks at once while remaining organized in a fast-paced environment.

Plan

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of sponsorship events, webinars, and virtual events
  • Develop and execute demand gen campaigns
  • Define KPIs for demand gen campaigns
  • Collaborate with marketing team to create and manage content calendars

Create

  • Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content
  • Ensure all customer-facing content is aligned to overarching brand strategy, visual identity, and editorial calendar

Execute

  • Use marketing tools such as HubSpot
  • Maintain unified brand voice across different channels
  • Manage day-to-day agency and cross-functional relationships to deliver brand communications, execute on content calendar, and support delivery of 360-degree campaigns

Analyze

  • Monitor and analyze campaigns
  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics
  • Provide project post-analysis reports with recommendations for future campaigns

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Strategy, or other similar area
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, such as Canva – an asset
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro) – an asset
