Position Overview

Calian is currently looking for Printing Specialists to assist our Defense sector client in support of a number of high-speed, low-volume, large-format printers, and plotters, along with ancillary equipment to assist with the constant demand for paper mapping products.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Physically assembling complete or partial Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and identifying and actioning deficiencies in data packages of systems and equipment

Receiving, logging, taking custody of, and acknowledging the receipt of TDPs which describe additions, modifications, and/or deletions of technical data

Collecting, reviewing, and updating configuration management data for input into the environmental configuration management information system

Modifying, validating, and compiling technical data package lists, that will include:

Technical publications

Specifications

Performance test sheets

Equipment and system data lists and drawings

Repair and overhaul specifications; and

Other technical descriptors in accordance with Data Technical Descriptions (DTDs) and Data Item Descriptions (DIDs)

Updating, validating, and compiling technical data action notices

Reviewing documents, drawings, and associated data for conformance to standards

Formatting technical documents

Qualifications

A minimum of one (1) year experience in the past five (5) years reconfiguring, resizing, and reformatting files in Adobe Photoshop software

A minimum of one (1) year experience in the past five (5) years loading/changing; papers, waste containers, print heads, and ink on large format printers (36”, 48” or 60”)

A minimum of one (1) year experience in the past five (5) years creating spreadsheets and documents, text formatting, editing, calendar management, scheduling, e-mails, etc. working with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word or equivalent

Must be able to provide his/her own Canadian Standard Association (CSA) approved safety footwear

Must be eligible for Enhanced Reliability (Level I) Security Clearance with the Government of Canada

Additional Requirements

May on occasion be required to travel to other buildings within the National Capital Region – Free transportation, bus tickets, etc. will be provided
