Summary:

Calian is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to deliver comprehensive occupational health assessments for firefighters and first responders. This role combines onsite clinical assessments with virtual diagnostic review, preventative medicine, occupational health screening, cardiovascular risk assessment, cancer surveillance, and specialist referral coordination within a collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Review participant medical history and occupational exposure profiles.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations.
  • Perform occupational health assessments and identify workplace-related health risks.
  • Complete cardiovascular risk assessments.
  • Conduct occupational cancer screening reviews and preventative health assessments.
  • Review laboratory, ECG, spirometry, imaging, and specialist reports.
  • Develop individualized health recommendations.
  • Coordinate specialist referrals and follow-up care.
  • Prepare participant reports and healthcare provider communications.
  • Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, laboratory services, and interdisciplinary clinical teams.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Nurse Practitioner registration and eligibility to practice in Ontario
  • Professional liability insurance
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Experience using electronic medical records

  • Emergency medicine

  • Public health
  • Knowledge of Ontario referral pathways

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel to clinic locations throughout Ontario.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning and communication skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based medicine and preventative healthcare.
  • Comfortable providing both onsite and virtual clinical review.

Compensation:

$110.00 – $125.00 per hour
