Position Overview
Nurse Practitioners are integral to the interdisciplinary medical and mental health team providing healthcare services to marginalized populations and their families in this non-hospital client setting. As a valued member of this team, you will be responsible for providing services to diverse individuals experiencing a wide range of medical and mental health concerns.
This role is well suited to individuals who are interested in making a difference for a vulnerable population, and are capable of working autonomously within their scope of practice.
This position is casual in nature, up to part-time hours, offering you the opportunity to respond to urgent client needs as they arise.
Qualifications
- Must be licensed and in good standing with the CNO
- Have minimum 3 years experience as an NP in the last 5 years performing the following tasks:
- Performing medical examinations and completing formal written assessments;
- Documenting medical diagnoses;
- Developing and monitoring individual treatment plans;
- Monitoring of patient health;
- Maintaining and updating medical records;
- Providing advice and instructions to other medical professionals;
- Managing bio-hazardous waste and decontaminating or sanitizing medical equipment;
- Providing disease prevention and health promotion advice;
- Measuring and recording vital signs;
- Administering medications, fluids intravenously and/or other treatments and provide the
- required monitoring; and
- Performing mental health and psychosocial assessments.
- You must be able to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance at the Reliability level
- You must be ble to obtain a Vulnerable Sector police check
