Position Overview

Calian Health Services is currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for a full time position at CFB Kingston. The Medical Laboratory Technologist will support the health and wellbeing of the Canadian Armed Forces military service members

The clinic hours are 7:30 am – 4:00 pm – Monday to Friday, no evenings or weekends! Services are provided to active military members. No seniors, no children.

Responsibilities

• Perform, communicate, and record diagnostic procedures, including patient interaction, venipuncture, specimen collection, processing, and prioritization of testing while maintaining sample integrity standards.
• Recognize, assess, and report unusual or abnormal findings; retrieve results and perform additional reflex testing as required.
• Enter, verify, and investigate patient and specimen data in the Laboratory Information System; respond to inquiries related to testing and results.
• Process, package, and distribute specimens in accordance with TDG regulations; manage supplies and maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
• Professional Memberships: Active membership with the CSMLS and CMLTO.
• Two years of full-time experience in the last five years: Performing Hematology, Urinalysis, Chemistry, and Phlebotomy.
• Must be comfortable with drawing blood from patients.
• Security Requirement: ability to obtain Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.

Compensation

$34.00 – $38.00 per hour, based on experience, education, and relevant certifications.
