Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.
Position Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of physicians, Registered Nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The LPN supports patient assessment, delivers selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and promotes preventive health care. This role delivers care to patients on both a walk-in and appointment basis across a variety of primary and ambulatory care settings, including the Care Delivery Unit (CDU), treatment rooms, and specialty clinics.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient histories and basic physical assessments
- Perform selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- Educate patients on preventive care and health management
- Provide care to walk-in and scheduled patients in primary and ambulatory care settings
Qualifications
- Graduated from a Practical Nursing Program approved by Council of the College of Nurses;
- A licence from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice; and
- A Certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C.
Additional Requirements
- Eligible to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
Compensation
$40 – 43 per hour, based on experience, education, and relevant certifications.
