Calian Health is currently recruiting Occupational Therapists to complete assessments for employees have multiple workplace barriers and unique needs for workplace accommodations that extend beyond the current capacity of their managers and internal Centre of Expertise to determine. This is a great, casual opportunity to supplement your existing income and work remotely.
Contractors will be asked to focus on bridging the gap between employees’ job demands, as listed in employees’ work descriptions, and employees’ limitations in one or more areas including physical movement, use of senses, cognitive functions, social and emotional functions and scheduling.
Contractors may need to assist employees with articulating their needs for a barrier-free working experience rather than naming the employees’ disabilities, medical conditions, medications or symptoms.
Contractors will be asked to work with managers, employees and/or internal company specialists to identify possible workplace accommodations that will help employees to thrive in a barrier-free workplace. The focus of these accommodations is on workplace needs only.
Duties may include
- Review de-identified documentation provided by the Client;
- Participate in virtual conversations coordinated by the Client with one or more parties, such as the employee, manager and/or Client specialists;
- Offers the Client clarity about the employee’s functional limitations in the workplace without disclosing the employee’s disabilities, medical conditions, medications, or symptoms; and
- Provide the Client with expert advice on possible workplace accommodations for employees.
Qualifications and experience:
- Licensed and in good standing with the Saskatchewan College of Occupational Therapists (SCOT)
- Eligible to obtain a Government of Canada Security clearance.
