Position Overview
We are looking for a Social Media and Marketing Student to leverage your creative edge and collaborative teamwork abilities to grow our brand visibility and reputation with international audiences in the space and defence industries.
You will work alongside marketing and communications professionals in Saskatoon and Ottawa, gaining valuable experience in the industries Calian serves and learning how we collaborate to provide products and services to clients around the globe.
This is an eight-month co-op or internship opportunity based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and management of social media marketing strategies.
- Collaboratively develop social media campaigns and monitor key performance indicators using marketing tools such as HubSpot.
- Work with the marketing team to maintain an engaging social media calendar.
- Support the distribution of marketing materials through social media channels.
- Collaboratively create multimedia marketing campaigns for Calian product lines targeting international audiences.
- Develop engaging content for social media platforms.
- Assist with the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content.
- Ensure customer-facing content aligns with brand strategy and visual identity.
- Assist with event management activities.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across all marketing materials.
- Gather data on existing and potential customers, competitors, and market segments to support targeted marketing strategies.
- Research and share social media best practices, platforms, and tools with the Marketing team.
- Perform other duties as required within the context of the role.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a co-op or internship program in Marketing or a related field.
- Knowledge of social media best practices.
- Proficiency with video and photo editing tools such as Canva is considered an asset.
- Experience leveraging LinkedIn for social media campaigns is considered an asset.
- Experience in marketing or public relations is considered an asset.
- Experience with event management is considered an asset.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot is considered an asset.
- Ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
- Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Security Clearance.
