Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.

Position Overview

As a Medical Radiological Technologist, you will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services to physicians and healthcare providers to support the diagnosis and treatment of injury, illness, and disease.

Working within a collaborative healthcare team, you will perform imaging procedures in a clinic using technologies such as digital radiography (DR) and computed radiography (CR). Patients are seen as booked appointments as well as walk-ins for sick parade and urgent cases.

This role combines technical expertise, patient care, and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Providing patient-centered care throughout the imaging process, including preparation, instruction, and post-exam support
  • Accurately documenting and managing patient information using systems such as RIS and PACS
  • Performing routine equipment checks and reporting any issues as required
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and properly stocked work environment
  • Collaborating with radiologists, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team

Qualifications

  • Have a current certification from and current membership (Full Practice Membership) with the Canadian Association Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or by other professional associations that have reciprocal agreements with CAMRT
  • Have a current and in good standing registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)

Additional Requirements

The Medical Radiological Technologist must, as a minimum, have of 2 years of experience:

  • Working in a clinic or hospital as a Medical Radiation Technologist performing general, special, emergency, interventional, and operative radiology examinations observing safe radiation protection practices or procedures;
  • Applying diagnostic imaging quality assurance and quality control practices and programs; and
  • Operating and maintaining digital imaging equipment and accessories such as digital radiography, Radiology Information Systems, Computed Radiography, and Picture Archival and Communication Systems.
