Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Software Developer to serve as a key technical contributor within our Engineering team. In this role, you will work across all phases of the software development lifecycle, contributing deep technical expertise, architectural insight, and sound judgment to deliver robust, high-quality software systems.
This position represents progression from the Intermediate Software Developer level. While Intermediate Developers operate independently across a wide range of tasks, Senior Developers bring advanced expertise and leadership. You will tackle complex, high-impact challenges, contribute to architectural direction, mentor team members, and proactively identify technical risks and opportunities.
Depending on organizational needs, this role may also include responsibilities as a Team Lead and/or Product Owner, providing leadership in roadmap planning, team direction, and product delivery.
Responsibilities
Software Development
Contribute to proposals by developing technical solutions and preparing associated estimates
Write technical descriptions and supporting documentation
Develop and document system requirements
Design external interfaces and produce high-level and detailed software designs
Act as a top-level technical contributor in implementation, integration, and testing
Perform thorough code reviews
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans
Interact with customers as directed to clarify requirements and support delivery
General Responsibilities
Collaborate effectively within a team environment
Mentor and guide less experienced developers
Provide and accept constructive technical feedback
Estimate tasks and provide schedule input
Scope tasks to align with project timelines
Perform work with a high degree of latitude while following best practices
Resolve the most complex technical issues
Demonstrate expert knowledge within your software development domain
Take ownership to ensure systems meet customer needs
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Team Lead Responsibilities (If Applicable)
Manage the team’s capability roadmap
Set and direct team priorities
Assign and delegate tasks based on evolving priorities
Oversee team workload balancing and scheduling
Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews
Lead participation in Program Increment (PI) planning
Coordinate with Product Owners and other Team Leads on roadmap alignment
Coordinate with customers to incorporate requirements into planning
Monitor and track progress of priorities and tasks
Perform code reviews as required
Track team participation in daily standups
Product Owner Responsibilities (If Applicable)
Manage the product roadmap and backlog
Conduct backlog grooming sessions with customers
Coordinate resource availability with Team Leads
Manage product scheduling and delivery timelines
Coordinate with DevOps and testing teams for release planning
Provide guidance and support to the development team
Qualifications
Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
OR
Three-year Bachelor’s Degree plus one (1) year of relevant experience
OR
Two-year diploma in Computer Technology plus two (2) years of relevant experience
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the software development industry
Strong expertise in Core Java
Demonstrated experience contributing across the full software development lifecycle
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills
Strong ability to design scalable and maintainable systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical challenges, designs, and proposed solutions
Additional Requirements
Proven experience handling complex, high-impact technical challenges
Strong mentorship and technical leadership capabilities
Ability to influence technical direction and architectural decisions
Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to operate with minimal supervision and a high degree of accountability
Compensation:
$110,000-$135,000
