Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager who is responsible for working with the engineering lead for the planning, scheduling, executing, and delivering of client-facing projects that span various disciplines within Calian’s practice areas. This may include managing internal and external project teams, as well as any external vendors that may be involved.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate multiple projects (in various phases) simultaneously
- Define and organize projects and establishing project scope and timeline
- Engage the appropriate departments to establish the project team
- Ensure team members understand their assigned action items and meet the due dates
- Keep team resources focused on planning and executing the project
- Provide assistance and support to project team members
- Facilitate project execution and ensuring timelines are met
- Work with Sales to evaluate the effect of changes to scope or timeline on project costs and revenue
- Maintain the project folder in a public network location with appropriate project management documents and review it on a regular basis
- Provide updates to client, team members, sales personnel, and management on project status
- Own and maintain the project status spreadsheet for all projects
- Hold project kickoff, status and close out calls for all assigned projects
- Ensure effective communication and transfer of information between the project team and client
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure proper invoicing at the appropriate project milestones
- Keep the project team and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3-5+ years of in-depth experience coordinating projects
- Experience working directly with technical engineers and as well as non-technical end users
- Experience in coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring that project goals are met
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and empathize with team members
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to assess risks and make decisions while working under pressure and time constraints
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new software
- Critical thinking and project management skills required
- Excellent writing, editing skills and command of grammar with ability to edit text for consistent style
